Spooky Canyon, Utah

This canyon is even more narrow than Peekaboo.  I think at its narrowest, it was about a foot wide.  Yes, we were walking sideways, with our head sideways as well.  It is that narrow!!  We got out of Peekaboo Canyon and rested for a while.  Walked about half a mile to Spooky Canyon.

Took the sand out of our shoes
 Entering Spooky Canyon
Came to this area that was somewhat blocked with big boulders.  This was probably the toughest part of the hike.
 DH started the descent.
Uh, yeah... that's going to be tough!!
Of course, daughter went through just fine.  Notice how dark it is and it was close to noon.
Very narrow and oh so cool!!!

We made it out!!  Grumpy youngest daughter was tired and hungry for a real meal!  But she loved it and can't wait to do it again maybe next summer.
And we're on our way to go eat!!

A few things to keep in mind if you decide you want to go.

I brought my camera and kept it in a small camera case.  It is a Sony DSLR.  I only brought one lens because I didn't want to change lenses in the canyon.  Too much sand in there.  The lens I brought was 1.8/50 which was great for low light situations.  I did have to clean my camera after that trip.  Yes, some sand got inside even thought I did't change lenses.

Bring plenty of water but not a big backpack.  It's just so tight in there.  Bring snacks.

We saw a few people hiking.  This is quite remote so, not popular.

I hope these photos gave you a good feel for what the hike is like.  We had a blast!

Thanks for stopping by and have a happy day!!
